PS5 faults we can assess

PlayStation 5 consoles can develop faults from damaged ports, dust and heat buildup, liquid exposure, power problems or component failure. Some symptoms look similar even when the underlying cause is different, so a proper diagnosis is often the safest starting point.

PS5 HDMI Port Repair

For physically damaged HDMI ports, loose connections, bent pins and no-display faults caused by the port or nearby circuitry.

No Display

Diagnosis where the console powers on but the television shows no signal, flickering or an unstable image.

Overheating & Cleaning

Assessment of overheating, loud fan behaviour, shutdowns and internal dust or cooling issues.

Power & Board Faults

Selected no-power, shutdown and board-level faults can be inspected by our repair technicians.

Before bringing your PS5 in for repair

A few simple checks can help us diagnose the console more efficiently and can sometimes rule out external causes before board-level work is considered.

  1. Try another HDMI cable and TV input: a damaged cable or input can look like a console HDMI fault.
  2. Note the power behaviour: tell us whether the console shows a blue or white light, shuts down, beeps without starting, or stays completely dead.
  3. Do not keep forcing a loose HDMI connector: repeated movement can damage pads or surrounding board components.
  4. Bring the console itself: for most hardware diagnosis we need the PS5 console; bring the power lead if the fault is intermittent or power-related.
  5. Tell us about previous repairs or liquid exposure: this can change the diagnostic path and helps avoid unnecessary parts replacement.

For HDMI damage, we inspect the port under magnification and check the connector, solder joints and surrounding circuitry. Where a fault extends beyond the socket, our micro-soldering service may be used for suitable component-level repair.

PS5 repair FAQs

Can you replace a broken PS5 HDMI port?

Yes, damaged HDMI ports are a common PS5 repair. We inspect the connector and surrounding board area because impact damage can sometimes affect more than the port itself.

My PS5 turns on but there is no picture. Is it always the HDMI port?

No. A damaged HDMI port is one possible cause, but the cable, television input, HDMI encoder circuitry or other board components can also cause no-display symptoms.

How long does a PS5 repair take?

Turnaround depends on the fault, diagnostic work, parts availability and whether board-level repair is required. Contact us with the symptoms for a current estimate.

Do you repair Xbox consoles too?

Yes. See our Xbox Repair Bristol page for Xbox repair information.
