How we value your device
A fair resale value is not based on the model name alone. Two phones with the same storage can be worth very different amounts depending on their condition and history. We normally consider the following factors before confirming a final price:
- Exact model and storage: for example, iPhone 15 Pro 256GB rather than simply “iPhone 15”.
- Cosmetic condition: cracks, dents, deep scratches, camera-lens damage, housing damage and screen marks can affect value.
- Functionality: charging, cameras, speakers, microphones, Face ID or fingerprint sensors, buttons, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other functions may be checked.
- Battery and general health: battery condition and signs of heavy wear can influence the final offer.
- Account and ownership status: devices must be removable from iCloud, Google or other activation locks before the sale can be completed.
- Network, IMEI and finance status: devices that are blocked, reported lost or stolen, or subject to unresolved restrictions cannot be treated as normal resale stock.
- Current market demand: resale values change over time as newer models launch and wholesale prices move.

Can I sell a damaged or faulty phone?
Often, yes. A cracked screen, weak battery, damaged back glass or another fault does not automatically mean a device has no value. The amount will depend on the repair cost, parts availability and the resale value after repair.
For heavily damaged devices, send clear photos and describe every known fault. We would rather give you a realistic indication than quote a high figure that cannot be honoured after inspection.

Before you bring the device in
- Back up any photos, messages or files you want to keep.
- Remove personal SIM cards and memory cards.
- Sign out of iCloud, Find My, Google or other activation-lock services where possible.
- Factory reset the device after your backup when appropriate.
- Bring proof of identity or ownership if requested.
- Tell us about known faults, previous repairs, liquid damage or finance restrictions.

Sell your phone locally in Bristol
Many online trade-in services require you to post the device away and wait for a remote inspection. Tech Revive offers a local alternative: you can speak to a real team, bring the device into our Broadmead store and have the final condition checked before agreeing the sale.

Frequently asked questions about selling a phone
How quickly can I get a quote?
For common devices, we can often give an indicative value from the model, storage, condition and clear photos during working hours. The final offer is confirmed only after the physical device has been checked.
Do you buy phones with cracked screens?
Selected damaged phones can still have value. A cracked screen, damaged back glass or weak battery will normally reduce the offer because repair cost has to be considered.
Do I need the original box or charger?
Not always. Accessories can help in some cases, but the device itself, its specification, condition and status are usually more important. Tell us what is included when requesting a quote.
Can you buy a phone that is still iCloud locked?
A device must normally be removed from the previous owner’s activation account before it can be accepted for normal resale. If you have forgotten your account details, resolve the lock with the account provider before visiting.
What if my phone is on finance or reported lost?
Be transparent about finance, network blocks or ownership issues. Devices with unresolved restrictions, lost/stolen status or ownership concerns cannot be treated as normal resale devices.
Do you only buy iPhones?
No. We consider selected Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and other phones, as well as some tablets, laptops, MacBooks and consoles. Availability depends on current demand.
